If you scan the lists of the winners by year, in numerous cases the best films–films that have since become classics–did not win, and many of the films that won best picture have long since been forgotten. Go figure.

None have been totally a good or bad movie. I try to focus on what I saw and give people suggestions like if there’s nudity. I was glad not to see Birdman. I couldn’t understand why it was so highly regarded. But then I liked the most recent Godzilla. 🙂

At least those movies made sense! I’ve heard about how bad Birdman is, so I’ll save myself and not bother to see it, even when it comes out on DVD.

You are so right about the movies kids enjoy. The mind boggles at the films and TV shows they find amusing.

I also have gone to critically panned movies and enjoyed them. Sometimes I ask myself if the film critic and I saw the same movie.
