Yes, the boys forgave me, but they didn’t forget. Every Easter, they never fail to tease me about the time I blamed the dog for eating their chocolate Easter Eggs. The Lovable Lab died several years later without exonerating me, and I was never able to convince the boys of my innocence. ::sigh::

And I confess, my children’s chocolate bunnies tended to shrink faster than they should have. But we didn’t have a dog to blame, so I had to be very careful.
