A mouse did something similar with our dog’s food. He/she/it stashed kibble in the winter boots we stored in the mudroom closet. We discovered it when we tried to put the boots on. Yuk!

Reminds me of last year when the Easter Bunny left jelly beans all over the living room for the boys to find and when we got up… not a single jelly bean. Thank you, Mister Mouse, for making me explain to the children that I was SURE the Easter Bunny didn’t forget that important tradition… and for stashing all those jelly beans underneath the couch for me to find later. 🙂

Yes, the boys forgave me, but they didn’t forget. Every Easter, they never fail to tease me about the time I blamed the dog for eating their chocolate Easter Eggs. The Lovable Lab died several years later without exonerating me, and I was never able to convince the boys of my innocence. ::sigh::

Now I’m a fool for dark chocolate truffles. Yum. 🙂

And I confess, my children’s chocolate bunnies tended to shrink faster than they should have. But we didn’t have a dog to blame, so I had to be very careful. Eventually I got smart and bought extra chocolate bunnies for myself.
