I wish I did that when I went to my granddaughter’s game. 🙂

My kids weren’t into sports. I tried to be encouraging but they didn’t want to do the physical activities. I guess I might get a shot with the grandkids someday. 🙂

No lecture, no warnings, just “let’s see how you like it” and the sideline coaches learned their lessons. My girls played tennis and swam, and one daughter played softball. And yes, I cheered, but probably not so vocally. Must be my years of watching band, choir, and orchestra concerts where you watch quietly, and critique afterward!

One of the most heart-warming moments was my son’s 1st h.s. swim meet, his 1st 500 free. When he finished several lengths behind the rest of the competitors, everyone (including parents fr the opposite team) cheered. What support!

Many, many times. Now, like you, I’m on the sidelines listening to the parents, and counseling/coaching now and then from the sidelines, but the parents not the kids. And out loud, too. But only those rare moments when Oldest Daughter isn’t around to look at me aghast and exclaim, “Mother!!” Laughed out loud at the description of Macho Man’s “Game”.

Or hockey. Or maybe cage fighting. Probably something violent. I’ll keep your lesson in mind and hopefully not have to take a football to the face sometime in the distant future! Great post. 🙂
