They used to belong to my two sons, so I’m passing them on to the next generation. I’ll be sorry to see the spaceships go. They made far out paperweights before I managed to hide them from myself. 🙂

I was out today shopping for a LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon for my grandson, a combination of both his obsessions. No joy. I’ll have to take the quest online. I’d much rather shop at my house too. 🙂

I’m sure your grandchildren are going to love them! You really didn’t lose the items, you were just saving them until you needed them!

But nobody beat my MIL who shopped all year round for Christmas gifts–usually right after Christmas. After she went into a nursing home (2006), we found gifts under her bed and in the guest room closet. Each gift in a plastic shopping bag with a piece of paper taped–Christmas, Doug 1998; birthday Liz 2002; etc. Everyone got their gifts a little late.

I’m a vintage collector, so it’s always cool old stuff that I stumble over in my house. Also, wish I could have done my Christmas shopping in your house. My 10 year-old would be over the moon for every Star Wars thing you mentioned. 🙂

After having seen and read those guys for so long, actually getting to see and talk with them seemed incredible. And the bonus was they, and most others like them, turned out to be genuinely nice people. Those tangible souvenirs you have from back then are far more than “pack rat” items. Of course, there are those who don’t understand, and whose interests don’t include such icons. But we do! I’ll bet everyone reading this does.
