At the end of next week, we’ll travel further south in Florida to visit with my baby sister and brother-in-law. They moved into their new place a year ago. One of the things the four of us love to do is go exploring for little hole in the wall gems with fabulous food. This is new territory, so I’m looking forward to the hunt. 🙂

I’d print them out before trying to find it, especially after dark. We almost got lost because we relied on directions from a friend. It turned out that she is as directionally challenged as I am.

Last summer they happened to be in Jackson Hole at a place called The Sidewinder; and they were eating chicken pot pie, one of my favorites. I told Tom we had to go there while we were in JH. We did eat there and I had the chicken pot pie. It was wonderful, and now our son has gone back there to eat a few times. I’m looking forward to going there again this summer. Yep, finding those off the beaten path places are sometimes the best times. If we’re up north sometime we’ll have to look for Redd’s.

Even got Hubs to do to a Mexican restaurant (where I tried the Roswell Alien Amber Ale). The alternative was Denny’s. Small town. I agree that it’s fun to find those gems.

It’s there you get a true feeling of the area, sometimes because of the food that’s listed on the menu and sometimes simply by listening to others seated around us.
